Our Story

Eco-Luxe is a groundbreaking initiative launched in 2023 by Savile Row tailoring houses to promote sustainability in the fashion industry. Spearheaded by Su Thomas, Eco-Luxe revives a tradition that had faded over twenty years ago by encouraging Savile Row’s esteemed tailoring houses to collect their fabric off-cuts for recycling.

Industry support

This initiative builds on the long-standing commitment of bespoke tailors to sustainable practices, including recycling, repurposing, and amending materials. Eco-Luxe takes these values to the next level with the support of renowned tailoring and textile companies such as Anderson & Sheppard, Gieves & Hawkes, Henry Poole & Co, Kathryn Sargent, Holland & Sherry, Joseph H Clissold, Richard Anderson, Dege & Skinner, alongside other contributors  Pickett London and Arthur Sleep.

The First Metres of a
New Eco-Industry

Under Su Thomas’s leadership, over 240kg of fabric cuttings were collected and donated to support the ’bedding in’ of the first fibre-opening machine in the UK, at Iinouiio in Huddersfield. The waste was then transformed into yarn in Yorkshire and woven into luxurious grey herringbone cloth by Woven In The Bone, a micro mill in Scotland. With the generous support of Campaign for Wool this collaboration resulted in 36 metres of bespoke cloth being made into garments and products for 2023 wool month, marking the first sustainable luxury fabric of its kind used in Savile Row tailoring.

Sustainable Quality

Eco-Luxe stands as the antithesis of fast fashion, celebrating bespoke companies’ commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability. Each garment is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship, from fibre sourcing to hand-finished details, offering a traceable, environmentally conscious choice for the discerning dresser.
